Today, I came across this excellent video, it's another Carl Sagan voiceover with new images and visuals, but this one is very well done. As usual Sagan's poetic words are quite beautiful; I love the message in this video and the whole thing is beautifully put together. Well worth watching.
I agree strongly with Carl in this video; he talks about purpose, but also I feel that part of what Carl was always saying was that it is time for science to take the mantle from religion when is comes to fulfilling our spiritual needs.
The truth is of course so much more fulfilling than old stories and Carl always makes this point beautifully. When I look up and wonder, I feel spiritually connected to, and part of the universe itself.
I am an amateur astronomer; I am interested in science, innovation, astronomy and general musing about philosophies of life, the universe and our place in it.
I love to look up and wonder, and this blog is mostly what results from that wondering.
