Today marks exactly half a century since Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin stepped out of the Lunar Module Eagle and onto the dusty surface of the Moon.
Watching the countless documentaries and restored footage this week has been incredibly moving. Apollo 11 remains the pinnacle of human exploration. The fact that they achieved it using slide rules, hand-sewn spacesuits, and computers with a fraction of the processing power of a modern key fob is practically unbelievable. It serves as a permanent reminder of what humanity can accomplish when we dare to look up and work together.
