Yesterday, millions of people across the United States experienced a total solar eclipse, with the path of totality sweeping directly across the continent from Oregon to South Carolina.
While I was not lucky enough to be there to witness it in person this time, the sheer volume of public enthusiasm has been wonderful to observe. Social media and news channels have been flooded with images of the diamond ring effect and the ethereal solar corona.

Events like this are a fantastic equaliser; they force everyone to pause, look up, and appreciate the magnificent, clockwork beauty of the cosmos. It certainly reignites my desire to chase the shadow of the Moon again soon!
